The melting of the igloo : (

Warm weather and igloos don't go together so well.
A few more peep holes than when we began.

Now we have a back door view.

Ice in the woods

Testing out an ice puddle in the woods.

Just hanging out on the ice.

Just laying around on the ice.

We always need a fire to warm up with, and someone has to keep it burning.

The pond is frozen!

Something is not right here.

Someone's having fun. Someone is not so sure.

Is he hiding behind that stick?

Ready for the puck!

Strong boys get to pull sleds on the ice.

New skates!

Time to warm up.

The guys keeping the fire going.

Train rides on the ice.

Sledding

The first runs need some pulling to get it packed down

And then they've got it - train rides are the best!

Back up again.

Icy trails require expert steering.

Sledding is the best!

The Igloo

This started as a warm, friendly hug....
Then, became the attack of the crawling monster - or is that Mr. Shaw?

Snacktime in the igloo - rather cozy.

It's great to get out of the wind.

Nice place for quiet reflection too.

Mother's Together

Last night all of the Mom's were invited to come and get to know each other a little better, over a couple of pots of fondue, and delectable appetizers. Of course not everyone could make it, and some even had to drop out at the last minute due to illness and life, but those of us who were there, had a very enjoyable evening. We shared great discussions about ourselves and our families. There was encouragement and hearty laughter - the things we all need. As we ended at Midnight (there was just so much to talk about!), we were eagerly considering our next get-together. And surely next time, some will be there and some won't - an evolving circle of friends.
This is so much a part of what Caleb and I want for Ebenezer Farm. We envision something much deeper than your typical "daycare". We're not even sure where we're being led, to tell you the truth. But one of the things we do know is that we don't ever want there to be any sort of disconnect between us, our employees, the children and their families. Life is hard, often very hard, but God is Good and our most worthy purpose is to be instruments of His Goodness; pouring His Goodness into the lives around us - and most intentionally in our work at Ebenezer Farm.

We are so grateful for the wonderful families/friends that we have the privilege of sharing our lives with. We are abundantly blessed!
