About Us

Hello! We’re glad you stopped by to learn a bit more about us and
how we came about creating this
very special Child Care and education program for young children.

It all began with our decision to restore our 15 acre family farm on Thayer Road in New Ipswich, that had fallen into a state of neglect. We created a plan of phases that would result in a productive, functioning and well-organized farm that would once again
 provide healthy produce and livestock.
Our land includes fields, woods, a pond, gardens and farm animals.
Adjacent to our property is Conservation Land
with an expansive Flood Control Dam, a larger reservoir and lovely views.
Creating an educational program for children came about as we considered how much our children, grandchildren and nieces always loved to come along with us to milk our goats, collect the eggs and gather garden produce.
The thought of opening up our farm so that more children could experience and enjoy the reality of being part
of such a fundamental part of life, appealed to us.

Providing an environment where children could hike through fields and woods, dig in the garden, plant seeds and relish the success of the harvest would allow us to share experiences we deeply value with eager inquisitive minds. Introducing children to the world of farm animals would naturally foster compassion, kindness and appreciation as well
as provide a lot of fun for all of us!

We both have a background of working with children in a variety of settings, including home schooling our 5 children for various portions of their education. We had learned by study and by experience that the best environment for encouraging lifetime learners is one that is unhurried and peaceful, where learning takes place in a natural and continuous fashion. Spending time together working, talking and inspiring young minds in a secure environment of love and warmth establishes a foundation that lasts a lifetime.
Although we have made a lot of progress, and we still have a lot to work on, we decided it was time to begin inviting children to join us. They are as thrilled as we are to be part of this rewarding process.

It brings us great joy to spend our days with children, doing the things we love and exposing them to the world of nature and animals and many many things that enrich their lives. The farm is a naturally vibrant, wonder-filled atmosphere for children to learn, grow and actively participate in.
We presently have 2 cheerful, cozy classrooms that are equipped to hold 17 children. We offer full and part-time child care, which includes a preschool program, before and after school care
and week long summer camps.

We have established Ebenezer Farm on the principles of Christian Faith. Although we uphold the Truth that God is the Creator and Sustainer of life, we do not teach religious doctrine.
Christian and National Holidays may be celebrated in simple manner. We warmly welcome children regardless of religion, race or ethnic origin.
If our programs sound like something your family is looking for, please send an email or give us a call,
we’d be happy to set up a time to visit!

 Sincerely, Caleb and Grace Shaw
